ZoŽ Martin, Holistic therapist

How I Work

My work tailors the therapies I offer to meet the needs of the individual holistically. On the first appointment I will establish a treatment plan by taking a fully confidential, medical and lifestyle history and then work towards trying to understand the root cause. I would ask that, for first appointments, an hour is the minimum booking. Please would you bring details of any medication you may be taking.

As individuals, no two people are alike. From a holistic basis, I can give a treatment that is specialised to your physical, emotional and spiritual needs at the time. This can be whether you like massage to be firm or light in pressure or whether you want the movements to be energizing or calming.

Combinations of therapies are most popular with my clients. It is quite typical to give a reflexology treatment combined with the use of specially blended aromatherapy oils. With existing conditions, it is wise to have a course of treatments to regain a state of well-being and balance.

ZoŽ Martin, M.A.R. ITEC BFRP

I have been practising complementary therapies since 2001, with my interest stemming back to childhood.

My diplomas include, Reflexology, Holistic Massage, Aromatherapy and Neal's Yard Remedies Holistic Facials. I also have a Reflexology Maternity Diploma to enable me to specialise in this field. I have worked as a volunteer for the Macmillan Centre which gave me deeper insights into the needs of the terminally ill and their relatives. In addition to these disciplines, I am qualified in the theory and practice of Hopi Ear Candling.

A few years ago, I wanted to be able to sit with clients to help work through emotional blocks that needed addressing through more than physical therapies alone. I found that clients often wanted to talk about their problems during their massage. This inspired me to train in Bach Flower Remedies, which has fulfilled the chance for clients to be heard and supported with the use of these remedies.

I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists and am accredited by them. I have full public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

I wholeheartedly believe in Continued Professional Development and regularly attend workshops & seminars, such as counselling skills, deep tissue massage, soft tissue release, spinal & ayurvedic reflexology and many others. These skills are often incorporated within the main therapies. I have taken a foundation course in Kinesiology which has given me many new tools in my practice. I am currently studying the use of hot stones both for reflexology and massage therapies. Learning never ceases and I welcome the opportunity to carry forward my knowledge to help others.
